Siné Buyuka studied International Relations as her undergraduate degree and did her MA at King’s College London in Media, Culture and Creative Industries. Based in the UK, she divides her time between London and Istanbul. Throughout her professional career, she has worked in different types of media as a music journalist, culture and arts reporter, sports presenter, blogger, radio show host, fashion writer and food critic.

She currently writes for three Hype Machine-listed blogs, does freelance editorial work for several publications and clients including BBC Turkish Services, Sony Music, Time Out Istanbul, NTV Spor, Milliyet newspaper, Socrates Dergi, Radio Eksen…She runs her own record label Injazero Records and produces under the name Villette.

BBC Turkish service is part of BBC Global News. The department provides information to Turkish speaking audiences in Turkey and around the world on online media and television. Siné first covered the London Olympic Games for the department website and occasionally freelances.

NTV Spor

NTV Spor is the first and the biggest commercial sports television network in Turkey. Siné worked as a presenter and reporter between the years 2008 and 2012. She covered important games, did pre-game, post-game shows, produced documentaries and interviewed world famous athletes like Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki. She still does freelance reporting for the channel from tournaments throughout Europe.


NTV is one of the leading news television stations in Turkey. The daily show Gece-Gunduz is the most viewed culture show on television. Siné worked as a full-time culture and arts reporter between 2007 and 2008, and as a contributor until 2012 with her main area as music. She interviewed important names like Francis Ford Coppola, Tori Amos, Marc Levy, Roger Waters and the late Maurice Béjart…

The Turkish edition of Billboard Magazine was the biggest-selling music magazine in Turkey throughout the two years it was in print. Siné wrote reviews and interviewed artists like R.E.M., Kaiser Chiefs, Wild Beasts and the Beastie Boys…


Lipstick Disco is an influential Hypem blog that specializes in dance music. Siné covers techno and tech house releases for the website.


Villette is the solo project of London-based house and techno producer Siné, who has supported acts like John Talabot, The XX, Digitalism, Jan Blomqvist and Metronomy in her hometown Istanbul. Inspired by the dark, she tries to capture the essence of the night in her mimimal, melodic, glitchy techno.


Indie UK is Siné’s electronic music blog that is getting more followers and readers everyday since being listed by the Hype Machine.


FatCat Records is one of the most respected indie labels that is renowned for its eclectic output and has been home to the likes of Animal Collective, Frightened Rabbit, The Twilight Sad and Sigur Ros. Siné worked as an A&R and press intern for a year for the Brighton-based label.


Injazero Records is a brand new London-based electronic music label that is launched by Siné in October 2014. Its output ranges from experimental electronic to techno and focuses on high quality production and original sounds.


Radio Eksen is the biggest and most influential alternative music station in Turkey. Siné hosted the weekly radio show Untitled and wrote for for four years.
